Q:How do i find my voice in Rap/hip hop?
Hi im a 16 year old rapper from london, ive studied the industry for years and only listen to real artists but also learn a thing from the wack emcees usually from what makes people listen to them. for 3 years i have been writing lyrics but only the past year have i really been trying to write actual songs, lyrically i can rhyme anything several times im not talking about simple words i mean complex words, but im having trouble discovering my path (voice) in rap and what i want to rap about, im only 16 so i cant rap about having fun with friends as we do not go clubbing etc as we are only 16, i have had a lot of family troubles but they are private subjects i really dont wish to make public especially when im still virtually unknown (it will just seem pathetic rapping about personal problems to a small audience) i know a lot about conspiracy theories etc but im not too pleased with rapping about that stuff and finally gangster rap from a small white guy=NO. How do i discover what i want to rap about its so hard, ive already developed my flow etc but i have no topics to rap about so im sitting at my desk telling mysefl i have to start writing but i just dont know what to write about, i need help please, thanks
