What happened to rap?

It used to be decent but now they have people like lil Wayne and drake pretending to rap (there's more but I'm not naming all of them) that just have repetitive lyrics and rap about being rich and having sex with a lot of women (with no selfsame) and Don't even make sense in their raps they just say words to rhyme then they act like their bad I mean drake can't be gangster when he's a Canadian who was on degrassi and who's real name is Aubrey and lil Wayne is just annoying. What happened to rap music?
